about

Every month in 2019 and the first bit of 2020, Lärmschutz invites a fellow like-minded artist for a split release on Faux Amis records.

For the january installment, Alex Maerbach from Chicago, United States, shares 8 nocturnal pieces of exactly 3:33 in length. He started recording this series of tracks initially to sooth his nighttime demons and help him get to sleep. The number of 8 tracks is symbolic, as the drone tracks can be played infinitely to help stay in the beautiful land between sleep and not-quite-completely-awake.

For side B, Lärmschutz plays in the same length and with an intent to drone. However, the times of recording (as seen in the track titles) differs a bit and the late evening simply raises different timbres and tones than Alex' nighttime recording sessions. As such, the result is a bit noisier but not meant to keep you awake: more to tweez out the last bit of energy before heading to bed.

Remember: You can save for a free tape with this split-series. Stickers come with every split, but the savingcard comes with the split we did with Terbeschikkingstelling:
